Peachtree Software Reviews - Ripe for Picking, Or Still Bitter?

By Chris Robertson

If you're setting up a small business, you will have had to make quite a few decisions in the past months! Rent or buy? Hire employees, or DIY? Which suppliers should you use? What type of printer is best? Laptop or desktop? The list goes on, and the choice between the two major accounting software products, QuickBooks and Peachtree, is just another of these decisions. In the pre-internet days, we would turn to our friends and family for product and service recommendations. Nowadays the internet is more likely to be the place we turn for information about which accounting software will suit your business better. And while there is plenty of fantastic information that is very readily available online, there is also very little regulation of claims... today we check out what you need to look out for in reviews of accounting software, from Peachtree to QuickBooks and beyond, when trying to decide which will be best for your business.

Is the review for the same version of Peachtree that you're considering?
There are quite a few different versions of Peachtree; Peachtree Pro, Peachtree Premium, Peachtree Quantum and Peachtree Premium, as well as various add-ons and industry-specific editions available. Part of the reason that you'll find so much difference of opinion about what seems to be a single program, is that it isn't a single program!

Decide which Peachtree or other accounting software version will suit you best, and then look for reviews of that particular product.

Has the reviewer updated to the latest version?
We all know that software is complicated, and a difficult product to get completely 'right'. Even Microsoft comes out with regular bug fixes for Windows... so it may be a little unrealistic to expect nothing to ever go wrong with your software! But has a negative reviewer updated to the latest version of their Peachtree product before airing their grievances? You'll probably never know.

Have they checked the Help file or sought training for the product?
Again, software is complicated - especially accounting software. A new user may well feel frustrated with an unfamiliar interface, but their troubles may well be resolved with just a little more practice, or with professional training assistance. However, the poor reviews that they post while frustrated with learning something new stick around forever.

Remember, people don't automatically think that problems are their fault... but an adjustment period is necessary with every change in your life.

Is the reviewer trying to sell something?
Even if there are no links to purchase the product within a review, there are no guarantees of objectivity with many accounting software reviews. This goes for reviews on both the positive and negative side of the fence, too... you'll find competitors trying to sabotage the reputations of big products by posting poor reviews, and people trying to sell products by posting positive reviews.

The solution? Never look only at a single source, and utilize the free trials that are available for products like Peachtree before you decide that a product won't be worthwhile for you.

Save Space and Time With File Compressing Programs

By Gregg Hall

Compressing of files is very handy when it comes to uploading and downloading files from internet. Apart from emailing and surfing, downloading files is the most popular activity among the net users. There are many places from where you can download files from. It could be from the software libraries, ftp directories, MP3 sites and also from the files sent to our email as attachments.

Compression of files has become such a crucial activity to transfer files from one computer to another computer either on internet or directly. With file compression you can either compress a single file or a number of files into one compressed folder. This will help you to reduce the file or folder size for easy transfers. The compressed files can be transferred faster because of their smaller sizes.

There are many file compressing programs available in the market but the most popular of the software is WinZip for windows and Stuffit for Mac platform computers. There are many software to compress the file sizes but they are not as popular as the WinZip for windows and Stuffit for Mac operating systems.

With the compression software, big files can also be compressed and fragmented into smaller files without losing the data. There are many free uploading websites which allow a certain uploading size limits to the free users. You can easily upload the fragmented and compressed files to such websites. When someone downloads all the compressed parts and double-clicks on the first file, the files get joined again and the data is never lost.

File compression is very easy with the compression software. You will need to right click on the file and you will get an option to create the compressed file depending upon the software you use. Normally the compressed file gets created in the same folder where the original file is found. However, you do have the option to customize the target folder to collect your compressed file.

Decompressing is the process where you will extract the compressed files in order to access of view the file. You can do this process with 2 simple methods. You could create a new folder and then select all the archived or the compressed files and drag them to the new folder.

Another method is the right click method. When you right click on the compressed file, you will get the option to extract the files. Again it could just extract the files to the same folder where the original file is found by default or you could even specify the folder where you want the extracted files to save.

Compression of files or folders will help you in 2 ways. First advantage is that you will save space on your hard drive or on your webserver. The second advantage is that the files can be transferred more easily since the size is reduced.

Image files and document files can be even reduced to almost 1/10th their original size. This makes the file transfer so very smoother and lighter. It is simply unimaginable to find people using the computer and not having the compression software installed on their comps. Normally, the compression software is the first installed applications after loading the operating system itself.-

Using a Portable DVD Player

By Tom Tessin

If you're thinking about buying a portable DVD player or you currently have one, you probably are curious on how one works. Most DVD players are the same and work the same way. I'm going to show you step by step on how you can play your DVD in no time. It shouldn't take no longer than a minute to get your DVD up and running.

Look for the eject button: The first step that you want to take is simply by looking for the eject button. This button will allow you to place the DVD inside the tray. Some newer DVD players don't have a tray though and you'll have to slide it in until the player automatically grabs it and accepts it. This works very similar to your car CD player.

Watch the screen: Once the DVD is in, the screen should automatically boot up and start the movie. Here, you'll be able to pick out what you want done next. If the screen is too dark or light, look for the contract buttons on the player. These are generally located on the side. Slide them up and down to get the screen you want.

Enjoy the movie: Once the movie starts, this is when you can mess with the volume or input your headphones. Other than that, everything else should be okay. If you want to play around with the controls to enjoy your experience then do so.

By now, you've probably realized how easy it is to operate a portable player. All of them are going to be different so make sure that you always hold onto the manual just in case something does go wrong.

The Differences Between a Netbook and a Laptop

By Bill Whelden

The advent of the netbook is a direct result of wireless internet technology. Where there's wireless internet access, one has to have a computer and nobody wants to lug around an 8 lb laptop all over town! Netbooks were designed to get you to the internet, period. This includes web browsing, email, social networks, etc. You may also include light (and i mean LIGHT) word processing to its work load. The reason for this is that netbooks have slow processors and not enough RAM - not to mention scaled down graphics cards and small hard drives. Typical netbooks have between a single core 1.3Ghz to 1.66Ghz processors and 1GB of RAM. Netbooks usually come installed with Microsoft Windows XP Home or Windows 7 starter. Some are loaded with Ubuntu Linux to shave a few bucks off the bottom line.

Lets talk about the advantages:

* Portable - most netbooks fit medium sized bags and satchels.
* Lightweight - all netbooks are under 3.5 lbs - yes, including the ones that have extended batteries
* Long lasting battery - netbooks usually last between 4-12 hours depending on the battery type and usage.
* Great for internet access and email.

And the disadvantages:

* Slow processors and very little RAM - can only run 2 or 3 programs simultaneously without seriously slowing down.
* No built-in CD or DVD-rom drive. You can attach an external drive, but there goes your portability!
* smallish keyboard and screen - not a deal breaker, but you kinda have to get used to it.

So what's the verdict? If you travel a lot and need something small and light and don't need it for anything but internet access and email, then the netbook is perfect for you.

Difference Between LED and LCD Screens

What's the difference between the LED screen and the LCD screen in a MacBook Pro?

Good question. The first thing we need to clear up is the idea that your MacBook or MacBook Pro has an LED screen and not an LCD screen. The LED refers to just the backlight portion of your screen, not the entire screen itself. There is a common misconception that the current models of MacBook and MacBook Pro do not use LCD screens.

So, what's the deal? Well, before June of 2007, Apple laptops used LCD screens that used a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp as a backlight.

Why would these need this backlight in the first place? Another good question - you're on a roll. LCD screens need a backlight, because the screens themselves (the liquid crystal display part) do not actually emit any light. In order to see what is on your screen, you need a special light, located behind the glass LCD screen, to brighten things up enough for you to view them.

A common MacBook and MacBook Pro laptop repair is a damaged screen due to a fall that causes the backlight to stop working. You can usually tell if your backlight is damaged by turning on your MacBook or MacBook Pro, or your PowerBook or iBook for that matter, and if your screen looks dark, but you can still see things on the screen when you shine a flashlight onto it, chances are your screen has a damaged or non-functional backlight.

During 2007, Apple (and a bunch of other companies) decided that CCFL backlights were evil and they had to go. They were full of mercury (bad), they used up to much power (bad) and they broke rather easily (very bad).

So, enter stage right, the LED powered backlight in June of 2007. Since that time, all Apple laptops have used a backlit LCD screen that has an LED based backlight. This has helped increase battery run times, increased reliability, and helped the environment all at the same time. All is good.

Apple certified repair technicians still see LED backlit MacBook and MacBook Pro systems arriving daily for repair. Even though the LED is more reliable and less fragile than the CCFL, they still break when dropped hard enough.

Customers often ask if just the backlight can be replaced on a LCD screen, and while it is true that you can replace just the backlight in many LCD panels, the parts and labor costs are not that much lower than replacing the entire screen. Plus, the vast majority of screens many times have additional damage, either to the LCD itself or to the screen housing on the MacBook or MacBook Pro.

Don't Get Burned on a Gaming Laptop

The markup on gaming laptops is often high because, let's face it, gamers are usually hardware geeks who will shell out the cash for even a moderate improvement in gaming experience and overall system speed. Many manufacturers will add pointless bells and whistles to a gaming laptop in order to justify an inflated price. So how does a consumer in the market for a gaming laptop avoid getting burned?

Don't buy a gaming laptop because it's a "Gaming Laptop."

There is nothing in particular that sets a gaming laptop apart from any other laptop; it's all about what's inside. The minute a manufacturer puts the "gaming laptop" label on a product and spray paints it neon green they've probably added another 30% to the price.

Most of the additional cost of designated gaming laptops comes in the form of exterior cosmetics and branding. The newest isn't always best. A buyer should be wary of first generation technology-early adopters are unfortunately seldom rewarded for spending extra on brand new technology.

More often than not, new technology is not matured enough to be fully functional or fully supported by software applications or drivers, and by the time the new technology comes into its own, the rest of the laptop is now too outdated for the new software.

Case and point is when 64-bit processors came out: Only special versions of operating systems even knew what to do with a 64-bit processor and very few games supported it. It was new, it was great, and it was rather useless and expensive.

Of course, the above example is from before gaming laptops were around, but using the recommended system configuration for the most intense game the buyer wants to play is still a good benchmark to base a system around.

Get a warranty, and don't void it.

When cramming a bunch of highly expensive and sensitive gadgetry into an itty-bitty living space it can result in a system that is less than robust when it comes to resisting wear and tear. The most likely time a system will be damaged is while it is being transported, and a laptop being a system designed for mobility, is highly susceptible to turning into a paperweight without proper care.

A buyer should never skimp on the warranty; get coverage that includes repair and replacement in the event of damage from operator error or mishandling. This is especially true for hardware geeks who tend to experiment a lot. When the laptop does fail, many warranties are void if the owner has played amateur surgeon on it. A laptop is a very personal thing. A one-size-fits-all "Uber-Laptop 9,000" might not be what is needed for a specific customer's needs.

Knowing what is needed to accomplish what is wanted is the best advice that can be given to a prospective buyer of a gaming laptop.

Give Your Laptop a Tough Skin With the Right Materials

Today, stickers are no longer those tiny bothersome characters your children apply to walls, doors and in some cases their notebooks that usually cannot be removed. There's a new sticker available currently for the "big kids" as well, that will assist with the protection of their laptop computer. A result of the chaotic lifestyle, laptops are taken around by students as well as professionals. The wireless cafes have become a well known stop for the lunchtime laptop person.

With all of the hustle and bustle, even with the laptop bags, the laptop still manages to obtain all those ugly scuff marks, the random drip, and blotches from sticky fingers, which we can't ever manage to eliminate entirely. Laptop skins happen to be the brand new rage pertaining to laptop consumers. A laptop skin is actually a tailored, plastic adhesive cover which provides a protective cover from scratches and sticky hands and fingers.

Laptop skins are produced of vinyl, leather, and polyurethane. The soft sticker adhesives are removable, providing change of design at anytime. Although the vinyl sticker adhesives deliver personality with personalized patterns, a few leave a sticky residue, and may be hard to get rid of. Patterns are infinite. You can find pop art, Dr. Who, realistic sunsets, a variety of nature scenes, or possibly one representing your selected sports team.

It is possible to make your own personal design, or make use of a unique image. A person can use these to make your laptop skin via an online company which specializes in tailor made orders. All you need to do is send measurements plus a photo of your style by email or to the company directly. You'll have the completed product in the mail, that you just can apply yourself.

Another kind of laptop skin that offers padded protection are the ones manufactured from high quality leather. The benefit to the leather is the additional cushion, and simple application without having the kind of adhesive that leaves the stickiness found with the vinyl adhesive stickers. Suede leather skins are also a welcomed addition from numerous colors and also animal designs, to modern and nature designs.

The only real disadvantage to leather is that you will not have a choice apart from color or, if you want, you can obtain a standard embossed pattern offered by the vendor. Of course, you may get in touch with the business directly and ask for them to individualize a leather style of your choice.

The assortment of laptop skins is never-ending. They can be found straight from your laptop seller, nearby office supply store, and also via the many online vendors. When selecting, ensure that the store or online vendor knows the precise make and model of your laptop. Remember that not every vendor carries skins to fit each and every laptop.

Once you decide on the sort of design or covering you will use, it is advisable to do price comparisons. You will discover online dealers that sell leather only products, that are competitive with various other leather merchants, but also competitive with those that sell customized designs using the vinyl adhesives. Many times that buying from your computer vendor will be higher priced. Take your time and you'll definitely have the best laptop skin style regardless of whether it is already manufactured or personalized exclusively for you.

Mobile Computing - Automatic Brightness Control Needed on Tablets

There are some higher-end tablets now which adjust themselves to the brightness, depending on where the sun is, and which angle the computer is being held at. This is important for people that use them outside, or if they use them for work. More and more businesses now are doing that, and many corporations are buying tablets for their employees, as they can contain all the information, and manuals that are needed in the operation of the business.

Not only does this save paper, it also saves time, energy, and you can put everything on one device. It also saves space when you travel, and these new tablets are quite light weight, durable, and soon to be flexible too. If you were leaving a restaurant at night, and walking down the block, and your tablets is acting as a GPS unit, the light should be somewhat dim so the brightness doesn't hurt your eyes.

If you are sunning on the beach and you have your tablet with you because you want to read an e-book, the screen should adjust to just the right background so it can be easily read. Just as the digital camera on the iPhone, or any of these other smart phones adjusts for the picture, the tablet PC should adjust the contrast, and brightness in real-time. The user should also be able to turn on or off this function as needed, because perhaps they are wearing sunglasses - thus they can self adjust it.

This is one innovation which would not cost much, perhaps only $20 worth of extra hardware, and it would hardly add any weight to the tablet, but it would make it so much more user-friendly, and therefore it would increase the number of uses and applications for this technology. There's no reason all businesspeople shouldn't have one, and all service companies, delivery companies, and even government inspectors should have one.

It will increase the efficiency and productivity of their work. That means they will be able to deliver services and products at a lower price, and the return on investment of the tablet will be well worth it. Meanwhile the manufacturers of these products will be able to sell them in bulk, and tens of millions of more units per quarter due to this extra automatic brightness control function. Please consider all this.

How to Convert VHS to DVD

VHS tapes or video home system tapes are those which are made of magnetic tapes wound from one spool to another which slowly passes the reader head of the video cassette recorder making it playable in VHS players. These types of tapes can only hold one movie only and its quality can degrade overtime due to a number of reasons namely dust accumulation as the first culprit for flawed, aged tapes. In this line, it is then commendable to convert VHS to DVD.

One of the surest and easiest methods is by using a VHS/DVD combination machine which has record options. Instructions will just pop on the machine's screen and you are good to go. Another method is via computer. You need also to check your hardware's capacity and capability for the transfer. Hard drive memory, RAM, processor and video editing software are the most important features that you should check in your hardware to ensure successful conversion.

Take note also that such method requires a lot of time. Furthermore you can also transfer VHS to DVDs by connecting your VHS VCR to a stand alone DVD recorder and the process is not as time consuming as the second process. It should be noted that original quality of videos will be carried to the DVD if you use the first and the last methods since those do not have editing options. You may also want to clean the tape heads of your VHS before transferring it to DVDs which might correct any flawed videos due to dirt accumulation.

MacBook Screen Brightness Adjustment Following Repair

If you recently had an Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro screen replacement, and you find that you cannot adjust your screen brightness from your keyboard, read on. This is a common problem that usually has an easy solution.

MacBook and MacBook Pro LCD screen repair is a very common service performed by Apple certified repair centers. During the MacBook screen replacement process, the laptop repair company or technician selects the type of screen they plan to install into your MacBook or MacBook Pro. This is because Apple uses screens from companies such as LG, Samsung, Chi Mei and Philips. In other words, Apple does not manufacture the screens for their MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops.

Therefore, during the MacBook screen replacement process, some newer model screens may be installed on an older MacBook system, and the screen will turn on and look perfect. It displays images and is functioning as expected.

However, even though the screen looks great, you still will want to be sure to check to be sure your MacBook or MacBook Pro keyboard controls are working correctly. So, press the brightness keys up or down. If nothing happens after trying this, then you have a situation.

If you find yourself in a situation, check which version of the Mac operating system you have installed on your MacBook or MacBook Pro, and:

* If you are running Mac OS 10.5 or higher, contact the repair center that performed your LCD screen repair, since there may be a hardware compatibility issue with your replacement screen.
* If you are running Mac OS 10.4 or lower, often you can quickly solve the keyboard brightness control issue by upgrading your operating system to Mac OS 10.5 or higher. Once you perform the upgrade, check your keyboard brightness controls to be sure they are now working properly.

How to Set Up Your New Apple iPad

With the holiday season starting in just a few weeks, there is already a big holiday buzz about the Apple iPad. The iPad is bound to be one of the most popular holiday gifts this season. Whether you are looking for an electronic book reader, the latest apps, a portable media player, or just a fun new gadget, the iPad will be making its debut in many households this December.

Now that you have gone through your ceremonial "unboxing", it is time to use iPad. If you aren't familiar with Apple iPods, iPhones, or most technologies, this could be a very frustrating task. Fear not as I am here to help show you how to set up your Apple iPad and jump right in on some Apple app fun!

The first thing you want to do after your iPad unboxing is to connect your new baby directly to your computer with the USB cable. Open your iTunes software once you are connected to the computer. If you don't have iTunes, you will want to download it from Apple's website before you connect your iPad. iTunes is free fairly easy to set up.

Once your iPad is connected to your iTunes you will be asked to register. This may be where you experience your first hiccup in the process. If the iPad is not connected properly it is likely your version of iTunes is out of date. Just go ahead and update your iTunes and you should be fine upon restart.

You will be asked to register your iPad once iTunes recognizes it. Make sure you register because if something goes wrong with your iPad, you may be delayed in receiving a remedy from Apple if it isn't registered. So go ahead and register your iPad.

Next you will be asked to restore your iPad to its original state or set up your iPad as new. Obviously this is a brand new iPad so you want to choose the option which lets you "Set up a new iPad." Keep in mind if you do want to restore the iPad it could take quite awhile. So in the future if you do have to do a restore, make sure you set up your restore at a time where you don't need immediate access to your iPad.

The next step will be to sync your media. You will be asked to set up iTunes so it automatically syncs. I choose not to do this with any of my Apple devices. If there is one fault with the iPad it is that the iPad apps are huge and you will fill up your iPad fast. So choose carefully when it comes to syncing your media. If you have a ton of movies in your iTunes, you may want to only sync the movies or videos that you intend to watch right away. Otherwise you are going to fill up your iPad quick with a bunch of files you won't be using in the immediate future. My recommendation is to sync your media manually so you can pick and choose what you want on your iPad.

Email set up is one of the easiest things to set up on the iPad. It is as simple as selecting your email program, entering your login information, and then you are good to go.

I would also recommend taking some time and searching the Internet for Apple iPad tricks and tips. There are a ton of really cool things that some iPad users have done with the device. There are things you would never dream of that some people have figured out and posted step by step tutorials online for new iPad owners like you.

Now you are set up to receive email, download apps, and watch your favorite media on your new toy. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful world of this amazing piece of technology. It will change your life and before you know it, it will be time to make a race to the store for Apple's next version of the iPad.

WiMax Is The Technology For Today

As if cable and DSL wasn't fast enough, now comes WiMax mobile-internet with average speeds of 3 to 6 Mbps and bursts of over 10 Mbps, this 4G WiMAX network gives you the speed you need to do anything you could do on your home PC or laptop except on-the-go! Stream movies, play online games and even video chat on the go. The options are endless! Why not take full advantage of the power of the Internet from wherever you are. It's amazing!

All you have to do is experience the speed of 4G for yourself and you'll know how powerful this technology can be. Today's 3G networks were built for making phone calls but the 4G WiMAX network was built just for the internet, wherever you are. This means that you have the bandwidth you need to download movies, upload videos, stream games and more-all at ridiculously fast speeds.

Think about being able to "take your business" on the road, in your car, on vacation or even just around the corner at the local coffee shop! How about just relaxing at the nearest Starbucks while chatting with your friend? What can't you do? 4G technology gives you the bandwidth to do all those things that it's slower predecessors of 3G network made so painful. Watch live soccer from Europe from the sideline of your son's soccer game in Seattle. Email a presentation from the road in seconds without having to find a coffee shop to make a connection. Download the video from that conference you couldn't attend on a train while commuting to work. The 4G speed let's you embrace the power of the internet in a whole new light.

3D Plasma Cutting Is the Technology of Choice in Structural Steel Fabricating

Structural steel is the framework or "skeleton" of a multi-story structure that is constructed with various elements including beams, columns, channels, angles, and plates. They are either welded together or connected with bolts to provide the framework to attach and secure the walls and floors of the building. These various elements are produced by steel fabricators in conformance with the designs typically drafted today with 3D CAD modeling as supplied by the building erector.

Traditionally, fabrication of the structural steel elements includes cutting and drilling using "metal against metal" techniques to create the final specified shapes and lengths of the components. The metal against metal technique utilizes the metal-toothed bandsaw to cut through a steel cross section and beam drill to cut holes or slots. Computer numerical control (CNC) technology provides increased accuracy and automation to these processes.

The plasma cutting technique emerged from plasma welding technology, offering significant advantages over metal against metal cutting. It performs clean, accurate cuts without the by-product of metal chips. It also has the ability to cut through greater metal thicknesses than laser cutting technology. Today's CNC technology allows for flexible, "on demand" cutting of diverse shapes using 3D systems with programmable industrial robots. Increased cutting accuracy and decreased cutting time is optimized by moving the robot plasma cutting head around the element being cut.

The advances in 3D plasma cutting technology replace the need for bandsaws, beam drill lines, and other older methods with a single unified, automated system for the fabrication of most structural steel components. The higher speeds, increased accuracy, and lower cost makes 3D plasma cutting today's technology of choice.

A Beginners Guide to the World of Cloud Computing

Cloud computing has taken off and is now accepted in the business world as an viable and safe alternative to the traditional network server and hardware based IT Infrastructure. For some though the terminology can still be overwhelming to the beginner. In simple terms, Cloud Computing means your IT (information technology), your files and applications are stored in the 'cloud', another term for the internet, instead of being on your own network server hardware.

It can be a cheaper option for some businesses as you now no longer need to purchase applications, hard drives or back up disks or software every again. All of your data and files are stored on the 'Cloud' and rented through a cloud hosting provider.

IT as a Service on the Cloud

Moving IT infrastructure to cloud computing sees delivery of IT resources as services incorporating infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS) over the internet. The advantages, beside the cost benefits of not need to constantly upgrade hardware, are that business operations tend to be faster, more flexible and highly efficient.

To access the 'Cloud' and all your data and applications, all you need is a cloud computer called a Notebook or Netbook and an internet connection with a cloud hosting service provider. You do not need expert technology knowledge or cumbersome computer hardware. If you can operate a lap top and a browser you can easily become a user of cloud computing.

A Cloud computing service provider allows for common business applications online, as mentioned above, accessed from a web browser. Business software and data are stored on the servers of your cloud host.

The Benefits of Moving to the Cloud

* Reduction in capital expenditure over the long haul (no need to constantly invest in new infrastructure)
* Increases business operations efficiency

While security and monitoring have been issues in the past with moving to the cloud, much of this is sorted out now with the military and Governments moving off hardware. This move has seen a dramatic maturation of cloud security. Security is becoming less of a problem as more larger companies move their entire IT infrastructure to cloud computing. It is still always a good idea to check with your cloud host or provider, what their back up and security protocols are and be satisfied you data and files will be in safe hands.

Tips to Select Best Cartridges For Better Results

Computers have become the important tool of an individual and along with it printers are equally important for use. So buying ink cartridges for your printer is also important, so that you can get good quality of print out for clear visibility.

Every time your printer might send a signal of having less ink. So you may think which ink cartridges is best for your printer. The best place which is to be considered is to look at the cartridges of your printer. Check what type of cartridges your printer requires. However, there might be some issues when, you might not find the same type of cartridges or it may not be available for some reason.

So in that point of time you will have to consider the following points:

Use of generic cartridges should be avoided, if you use these kind of cartridges, you might end up damaging your printer.

Ink Cartridge Replacements - Getting the Best Deal

Some people print documents quite frequently, yet even for these, each time they need to print a new document, the inkjet cartridge seems to malfunction. This usually occurs in the later hours of the day, or just as they are about to leave home. It is remarkable the feeling of frustration that can develop from such a minor thing as an inkjet cartridge.

However, the frustration is even greater when they attempt to substitute cartridges. Normally, while walking along an aisle to find a cartridge, they walk past most recently developed and most advanced electronic products, printers included. The prices appear to be lower with each passing day. Now, in moving towards the inkjet cartridge section, resolved to be intelligent by purchasing two this time, they might be surprised by the price of an inkjet cartridge. Sometimes their prices are similar to the cost of a new printer. Obviously, a wiser route to purchases is needed.

Finding a great deal on an inkjet cartridge begins while purchasing the printer. Initially, ensure that the printer you select is built with the black ink cartridge housed separately. The great majority are so constructed, however there are plain paper facsimile machines with color and black ink in one unit. Obviously, such a cartridge can be quite expensive. Inquire about prices at stores, not excluding the location where you plan to make the purchase., since the prices are available there.

Sometimes a printer seems to use ink sparingly. Among these are the HP 1530 all-in-one. Having to part with such a printer can cause sadness, since they can work effortlessly for long periods of time and their cartridges appear to function endlessly, For those who don't print in color, when the color tank gets empty, they don't replace them. Unfortunately, that old type printer will eventually break, however there are other HP printers just as miserly in their use of ink. Therefore, search for such printers, and find out which brand uses the least amount of ink.

It is also possible to reduce your spending on each cartridge by buying your ink in multi-packs, thus looking for the availability of multi-packs for the printer you select is advisable. In trying a generic type cartridge, you might find the output less than first-rate, but some people swear by them. They refill the cartridge themselves, and from reports, they save the owners a lot of money. If you shop om the internet, it's possible to find bargains every now and then.

Perhaps the consumer would prefer buying a new printer instead of replacing the cartridge. initially, doing so might appear a wise choice. Nevertheless, sales personnel in ahy store that sells printers will tell you, when asked, that new printers don't contain anywhere near the amount of ink that a replacement cartridge does. You can research this yourself. It seems plausible, as anyone who has bought new printers might attest.

Incidentally, defective printers like the HP 1350 can be sold on eBay for small amounts of money, even though that might not be able to pay for new cartridges.

Therefore, when someone shops for an inkjet cartridge, initially select the printer, and afterwards check out the possible choices for a replacement for the cartridges. Another idea: never purchase only one. You will understand why afterwards.

How Do I Implement Business Intelligence

As either a business manager, knowledge worker or IT practitioner, you will have almost certainly come across terms such as 'business process' or 'software development life-cycle' (SDLC). In both cases, they provide a road-map or some kind of instruction set that spells out what should be done, and in what sequence.

Marching orders such as these need to be carefully planned and constructed to ensure successful completion of a required process, in a way that is consistent and compliant with company policy and best practices.

The field of Data Warehousing (or On-line Analytical Processing - OLAP) is similar to other automated application systems in that it involves the development of databases and software in order to provide some useful and reliable service to its business users.

This document outlines the Process for BI Development and follows industry standard practices, base on the Kimball methodology.

Conventional systems usually have a specific role to play by providing defined functionality that is tied to business processes and that can be preformed repeatedly with virtually the same outcome using, of course, different data and different selections of tasks and operations to be performed. OLAP based systems tend to fall into a rather different category than the general business application. Although it is known what kind of operation and process an OLAP system can be asked to perform, these are not usually mapped to a specific business process. It is much more about exploring data and discovering previously unknown or unrecognized facets of the business and being able to further investigate the data based on such discoveries.

These fundamental differences in the way Data Warehousing and OLAP are employed within an organization are what make the development process also differ from the approach use in developing conventional applications.

The panel that follows lists the main steps in a process for BI development. Please note that 'Requirements Gathering' and Testing have been omitted from the list but will be discussed below.

The major components of the Process for BI Development

* Characterize the Environment.
* Establish Development Road map.
* Perform Data Profiling
* Perform Data Analysis.
* Perform Dimensional Modeling.
* Design ETL (Extract, Transform and Load).
* Design Analytics and Presentation.
* Configure Data Management.

Choice of Platform

There are different platforms, and toolsets on the market and a process for the development of a DW and BI solution should be relatively neutral in this respect. However, there are points in this document where reference is made to the Microsoft BI platform, specifically to the use of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Excel. These products also represent the platform upon which the measuregroup™ framework is built and to which several measuregroup™ tools are applicable.

Requirements Gathering

A project deliverable with a name along the lines of 'Functional Requirements Specification' or 'Business Requirements Document' is typically created by a Business Analyst, at or near the beginning of most conventional application development projects. In the case of the BI Project, However, there is less need for a specification of functionality.

This because the DW and BI facilities are not normally in place to map against a particular 'Business Process'. They are not typically performing set-piece functions as in the case of conventional applications. The need for specification is at a somewhat higher level of generality and speaks more to the scope and treatment of the data that is to be included in the facility.

For the main part, then, it is probably better to eliminate the document that is defined as something to do with 'function' and concentrate more on scoping the data landscape to be addressed by the DW solution.

Testing

Who could imagine the development of anything that involves data design, programming and implementation on computers without some form of testing being performed on the delivered system.

Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence software is no less likely to suffer from logic errors or even simple typographical errors that would render the system far less useful if they were delivered to the customer. These programs need testing just as much as any other software genre.

What is different, though, is the fact that, as stated previously, we are not programming against a set of business functional requirements. This means that the 'best practice' of designing our test specifications against the requirements may not be possible in the same way. They are never the less, still possible to create and execute.

What we need to do, is test the programs against the job that is specified for them to do, and that job is specified in a slightly different way. Instead of business requirements we are faced with technical specifications telling us that certain data has to be copied from its initial location, possibly reconfigured in some way and then deposited in some new and exotic 'Dimensional Model'

The specification for what has to happen in this process is coming not from the business users but from the Data Warehouse Architect and Dimensional Modeler.

It is a common mistake for teams not experienced in DW/BI development to assume that the development process is just like any other they have encountered involving conventional applications. Herein, lies one of the many pitfalls that await the uninitiated.

Business User Expectations

It may be better to think of the BI development effort as being something that is part of the technical 'back-room' of IT. Something like the business of 'back-up', 'high availability' or 'disaster recovery'.

The direction given us by our business sponsors is more along the lines of requests for the availability of certain data, in forms that make it efficient for use with certain tools, created or purchased externally.

That is really what OLAP technology is about. The presentation (or analytic) tools are designed to provide a wide range of generic operations on your company's data but first you must get the data into the Dimensional Model to facilitate the use of such tools. Quite how you go about that is not for the business user to worry about, just so long as you make it work, efficiently, accurately, in a timely manner and with usability high on the list of priorities.

Internet Crime and What You Can Do to Protect Yourself

The internet has gone a long way to increasing opportunities for people with disabilities. Today, one does not even need to leave the home to purchase a television, furniture or even a wheelchair. Websites like eBay, Craigslist and Amazon have made it extremely easy for anyone to make a purchase over the internet. So easy in fact that many individuals do not consider the possibility of a fraudulent transaction. However, it does happen. According to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), it received 206,884 complaint submissions for the year 2007. Just slightly lower (by 0.3%) than the year before, which was 207,492.

IC3 reports that 90,008 complaints of crime to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies around the country for further consideration. The majority of cases referred alleged fraud and involved a financial loss on the part of the person making the complaint. The total dollar amount lost from these cases was $239.09 million with a median dollar loss of $680.00 per complaint. This was an increase from $198.44 million in total reported losses in 2006. Therefore, although the number of cases reported went down slightly, the actual cost to the person who suffers a lost went up.

The WC3 Statistical Breakdown
Perpetrators were predominantly male (75.8%) and half resided in one of the following states: California, Florida, New York, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Georgia. The majority of reported perpetrators were from the United States. However, a significant number of perpetrators also were located in United Kingdom, Nigeria, Canada, Romania, and Italy.

Among complainants, 57.6% were male, nearly half were between the ages of 30 and 50 and one-third resided in one of the four most populated states: California, Florida, Texas, and New York. While most were from the United States, IC3 received a number of complaints from Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, India, and Mexico.

Males complainants lost more money than females (ratio of $1.67 to every $1.00 lost per female). This may be a function of both online purchasing differences by gender and the type of fraudulent schemes by which the individuals were victimized.
Electronic mail (e-mail) (73.6%) and web pages (32.7%) were the two primary mechanisms by which the fraudulent contact took place.

The Agency claims that recent high activity scams in 2007 were those involving pets, checks, spam, and online dating sites, all of which have proven effective as criminal devices in the hands of fraudsters.

Who is WC3?
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).

IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes

How do I file a complaint?

IC3 accepts online Internet crime complaints from either the person who believes they were defrauded or from a third party to the complainant. We can best process your complaint if we receive accurate and complete information from you. Therefore, we request that you provide the following information when filing a complaint:

- Your name
- Your mailing address
- Your telephone number
- The name, address, telephone number, and Web address, if available, of the individual or organization you believe defrauded you.

Specific details on how, why, and when you believe you were defrauded. Any other relevant information you believe is necessary to support your complaint.

File a Complaint at http://www.ic3.gov

Note The Following:

• Because IC3 is a partnership the proccesed complaints are forwarded to Federal, State, Local and International law enforcement agencies for action.
• It is at the discretion of receiving agency as to what type of action to take.
• Filing a complaint with IC3 does not mean that your credit card companies or banks have been notified of fradulent charges. It is your responsibility to notify your credit card company or bank directly.
• IC3 does not guarantee that information submitted to authorities on your behalf will remain confidential. The state that it depends on the State or Local laws.

Choose a Local Computer Repair Firm For PC Repair Over a PC Manufacturer

The first personal computers were made available in the 1970s and were so simplistic that they were sold in kits, which could easily be put together by the consumer. The famous Apple-1 was the first personal computer to come with a fully assembled circuit board. However, one still had to provide a case, power supply, keyboard, and display for their Apple-1. When comparing today's personal computers to the first models, one can see how advanced computer technology has become over a short period of time. For instance, gigabytes, MP3's, AVI's, USB's, UPS's and dual cores are terms that never existed in the 1970s, but are all common terms today when discussing computer technology. When today's computers become damaged, a computer repair firm that specializes in PC repair and IT consulting in Cleveland, Ohio can help one understand what went wrong with their complex machine, how it will be fixed and maintenance tips.

Computer manufacturers do not work with consumers on a personal level when it comes to computer repair. When one sends their damaged computer to its manufacturer, it requires a mailing fee. Then the usual repair time is a couple of weeks to a month. After the repair is made, the consumer then has to wait at least a week before they receive their computer. The computer manufacturer may only disclose what was repaired in the consumer's copy of the work order or receipt, but will not tell the consumer how the computer failed or how it was repaired. If the consumer calls the manufacturer with questions, they have to go through a hierarchy of employees starting from the bottom.

One blogger on Askville.Amazon.com, said when he contacted HP to troubleshoot one of its computers it took them two hours and then another hour to authorize the return. The blogger said it took two weeks before HP sent the repaired computer back to him. He also said when he contacted Dell to troubleshoot one of its latest computer models, he was put on hold excessively before he was able to authorize the return. He said it took Dell three weeks to send him back the repaired computer.

A computer repair company that specializes in PC repair and IT consulting in Cleveland, Ohio can offer certified computer technicians who will work with the PC owner one on one at their home or office. This not only allows quicker repairs, but also gives the PC owner the opportunity to establish rapport with the computer repair firm, allowing an opportunity for discounts and other deals on services. A PC owner has the chance to ask questions about how their computer failed to understand how to avoid it from happening again. For example, a computer technician from a computer repair company that specializes in PC repair in Cleveland, Ohio can inform the PC owner what Web sites to avoid to prevent the downloading of adware, spyware and viruses to keep their computer performance at optimal level after the repair is made. A computer technician from this type of firm can inform a PC owner to use surge protectors to prevent electrical damage after replacement of the damaged part.

Since computers are complex machines a lot more can go wrong with them other than virus infection and electrical damage. A computer repair company specializing in PC repair and IT consulting in Cleveland, Ohio can get to know the PC owner and their computer habits, since its computer technicians are able to work with the consumer on a personal level. This means the firm will know what maintenance tips to tell the consumer to keep their computer running for a long time and to save them money. Here are a couple of examples:

Never turn the computer off with the power switch until Windows has shut down

This will prevent permanent hard drive defects and Window problems from occurring. Use the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys to restart the computer if it crashes.

Use an USP, uninterruptible power supply for the computer

This prevents the computer from crashing during power outages and protects it from low and high voltage shortages (some say a USP is more superior than a surge protector)

Back up important data on at least two separate physical drives

-Hard drive failure is a common occurrence

Run Scandisk and Defragment at least once a month

This can prevent crashes

Never unplug peripherals from the computer when it is powered up

This can short out the motherboard

Keep at least 600 MBs of C: drive free

This can keep the computer from running slow. Windows XP and Vista requires 400-600 MBs.

Use a firewall program

A firewall program prevents hackers from gaining access to the computer system

Keep every software disk

Disks can contain important drivers that need to be reloaded

Computers are complex machines that require certified experts to fix them the right way. When a computer needs repair, a computer repair firm that specializes in PC repair and IT consulting in Cleveland, Ohio can offer more than a computer manufacturer. The firm can offer the right expertise at one's home or office to make the repair faster, offer better deals, and gives maintenance tips to save PC owners money.

OEM Ink Cartridges - Quality at Its Best

OEM ink cartridges, an abbreviation for Original Equipment Manufacturer cartridges are original products manufactured by the original brand manufacturers themselves. This accounts for their superior printing quality and a cost higher than their alternatives. These "Genuine" products are produced by printer manufacturers or their licensed subsidiaries and carry their names. They come in many brands - HP, Dell, Canon, Lexmark, Epson, and Brother to name a few.

Despite their higher price, you should keep in mind that unlike a discount print cartridge or a refill ink one, OEM ink cartridges provide you with the best possible print quality. Every company uses different types of ink. Sometimes these differences may arise even in the production of different models from the same company. The ink used in OEM cartridges is of unmatched quality. This explains the superior quality print results.

Known for their high consistency in print yield and quality, they are assembled by machines in modern production facilities. Therefore, the chances of human error that is usually present to a considerable extent in remanufactured cartridges, is absent here. They may not offer 100% reliability but their defect rate is comparatively much lower than their remanufactured counterpart. The inks used in their production are designed to work with a particular printer. Sometimes, using a type of ink without taking the type of printer into consideration can make your print quality suffer. In many cases, misuse of products could also damage your printer.

OEM ink cartridges are superior to their counterparts in terms of print quality and page yield. Brands such as HP, Dell, Canon and others use the most advanced technologies in their manufacturing processes. As promised by the manufacturers, they are filled with enough ink to give the certain page yield guaranteed. They often come with money-back warranties. In case of any defect, your money is refunded. This makes them a cost-effective and safe purchase. Their quality certification ensures their superiority over their alternatives. Scientific testing has proved their high consistency.

As they are manufactured by their original brand name, they command quite a high price. But sometimes good discounts are offered by many retailers and even the manufacturers themselves. You must be aware of such discounts in order to get a good deal. As these original cartridges are manufactured by their original manufacturers, they are usually in stock.

Toner Cartridge - A Learner's Guide

What Is A Toner Cartridge?

A laser printer is lifeless without a toner cartridge. A consumable part of the laser printer, the toner cartridge is used to print text and images on paper. A toner cartridge consist of a toner power, a fine, dry mixture of plastic particles, carbon, black and other coloring materials to produce image on paper. Electrostatically charged drum unit is used to transferred the toner to the paper fusing the paper by heated rollers du Variants.

The Low-end to Mid-range Laser Printers contains two consumable parts: (a) The toner cartridge (typical capacity 2,000 pages) (b) The Drum Unit (typical capacity 40,000 pages).

There are toner cartridges that incorporate the Drum Unit in its design. This simply means that every time you replace the toner you have to replace the drum unit too. For some this is not cost effective and quite unnecessary.

Cartridge Types

Genuine: It is also known as "original" or "OEM." Manufactured by the printer manufacturers, it offers guarantees if you use genuine brand toner but threaten if you do not. This brand of cartridges is more expensive than refills, compatibles or re-manufactured cartridges. But if you are smart enough you can purchase this brand of cartridges from a specialist retailer cutting down on price drastically.

Compatible: It is also called "Generic" or "Alternative Brand" because it is manufactured by a third party companies and sold under different brand name as it is not produce by the original companies. Due to patent law and restriction, this cartridge looks slightly different in design. Some argues that this particular cartridge is less reliable but no one dispute its cost-effective component compared to the original cartridges.

Toner's Build

Through the air jet milling, toner has been made by compounding the ingredients creating slab that is broken or pelletized turning into fine powder with controlled particle size. This leads to toner granules in varying sizes and spherical shapes. For a better result some companies are using a chemical process to grow toner particles from molecular reagents for more uniform size and shape of toner particles that permits accurate color production and efficient toner use.

Prices

Sometimes toner cartridges can be costlier than the printer. But prices of toner exceed that of the printer if only the laser printer is of inferior and cheap quality. So logically those who owns a cheap quality laser printer usually disposes of the printer when it runs out of toner and replace the entire machine little knowing that the machine usually comes with 1/3 full of inks or toners. However, if consumers want to cut on their cost they can purchase generic brand laser toners manufactured by companies other than the printer manufacturer which is flooded in the market at a very low rates.

Clean-up Operation

Never use cold water to wash toner as it washes off skin and garments, but hot or warm water softens the toner bonding it in place. Toner should not be vacuumed with a conventional home cleaner. If by mistake toner spills over to laser printer then use electrically conductive hose and a high efficiency (HEPA) filter for effective cleaning.

Hardware Computer

Understanding of computer hardware (hardware) is one component of a computer appliance that nature can be seen and touched by humans directly or tangible form, which serves to support the process of computerization.

Computer hardware can work on the orders given to him, or is called the instruction set. With the commands that can be understood by the hardware, then he can do various activities that have been determined by the command.

All the physical computer is a computer hardware. Should be distinguished from data residing or operating in it, and be with the software (software) that provides instructions for the hardware in completing its tasks.

Limitation of the hardware (computer hardware) and software will be a little blurry when we speak about firmware. Because, the firmware is software that is "made" into the hardware. Firmware is the area of computer science and computer engineering, which is rarely recognized by the general user.

Computers in general consists of:

* Board system / mother board which is where the CPU, memory and other parts, and has a slot for additional card.

o RAM - short-term data storage, so the computer does not need to always access the hard disk for data. A larger amount of RAM will help speed your PC

o Buses:

+ Bus PCI

+ ISA Bus

+ USB

+ AGP

o ROM (Read Only Memory) where the firmware is placed

o CPU (Central Processing Unit) as part of the brain and the main computer

* Power supply - a box is a transformer, voltage control and fan

* Storage controllers of the type of IDE, SCSI or other, that control hard disk, floppy disk, CD-ROM and other drives; controller is located on the main board (on-board) or on expansion cards

* Control the appearance of a video that produces output for computer displays

* Computer bus controllers (parallel, serial, USB, Firewire) to connect the computer with other external additional equipment such as printers or scanners

* Some types of computer storage:

o CD - the most common type of removable media, cheap but easily broken.

+ CD-ROM

+ CD-RW

+ CD-R

o DVD

+ DVD-ROM

+ DVD-RW

+ DVD-R

o Floppy disk

* Storage in - store data in a computer for long-term use.

o Hard disk - for long-term data storage

o Disk array controller

* Sound card - translates signals from the system board to the language that can be understood by the speaker, and has a terminal for sound speaker cable.

Type of Monitor

We often call it the monitor or computer display screen. The term monitor usually depicted in a display box that can display anything from the computer. In addition the term is sometimes portrayed monitors to assess the ability of graphics.
There are many ways to classify monitors. But the most frequently used way is by looking at the ability of the resulting color monitor later. Monitor can be divided into three classes, including:

# Monochrome: Monochrome monitors typically display two colors, background color and another one is the foreground color. Colors are black and white, green and black and yellow and black.

# Gray-scale: Gray scale monitor is a special type of monochrome monitor that can display a different shade of purple.

# Color: Color Monitor is a color monitor with a 16 to 1 million different colors. This color monitor is sometimes called RGB monitors because the monitor can receive three different signals, Red (Red), Green (Green) and Blue (Blue).

After knowing the above, the most important aspects of a monitor is the size or we are familiar with the term often screen or the screen size. Like a television, comparing the screen size is the width in inches. The distance between one corner to the opposite corner of the other. In general, the minimum size of a monitor screen is 14 inches, while for 16-inch monitor that size or even more often referred to as a monitor full sail. Also based on size, can also monitor the shape or size portrait is higher than those with wide or in the form of landscape width greater than height. Landscape monitors can display two full pages side by side with each other.

Resolution of the monitor to identify how full the existing pixels, In general, the more pixels (often expressed in dots per inch), the sharper the image can be displayed. Many monitors are now able to display up to 764 pixels 1024, for the use of standard graphics card. Some models have high-end monitors can display 1289 until 1024, until 1200 or even 1600 pixels.
In addition there are several other common ways that can be done to characterize the monitor, which is based on the type of word signal is received by the monitor, whether it is analog or digital. Most monitors currently receive analog signals, which require the use of VGA, SVGA, 8514 / A and some other standard staining resolution.

Few monitor that has a fixed frequency, which means that these monitors will only accept input at only one frequency. Most monitors are "Multiscanning" which means that the monitor is automatically adjusting the frequency of the signal they receive. And it indicates that the monitor can display images with different resolutions, depending on the data they receive from the video adapters.

Some factors affecting the quality of a monitor is as follows:

# Bandwidth: The distance the signal frequency that can be overcome by the monitor. This is determined by how much data can be in the process, and in addition the fast how much these monitors are able to process high resolution.

# Refresh rate: How much time unity seconds the screen can be in the "refresh". To avoid flicker, then the process must be at least 72 Hz refresh.

# Interlaced or noninterlaced: Interlacing is a technique that can be done by the monitor to have a higher resolution, but it can reduce the reaction rate on the monitor.

# Dot pitch: Number of spaces between pixels. The smaller the dot pitch, the more sharp color produced.

# Convergence: The clarity and sharpness will each pixel.

Function from Computer Part

Every part of the computer have different tasks, like like a car that has a different task on every part, every part of the work to perform their respective duties. By knowing the duty of every part of the computer, we will be more easy to identify and resolve problems that appear on the computer.
And this examine below is an explanation of the duty of every major component of the computer.

Processor

"CPU"
Processor known as the brains of the computer. But in fact the statement was less precise. Processor is an appropriate computational tools. Such as addition, subtraction, multiplication or division numbers. There are two parts of a processor that perform calculations. The first part is called integer unit, integer unit is the task of overcoming a simple number, such as -5, 13, ½ and others and its main task is used for business applications, such as applications of Word, Spreadsheet and Windows Desktop. And the other processor is called Floating Point Unit. This unit is the task of overcoming the numbers is quite difficult, as root, pi, "e." and logarithms. This section is usually used in the process of making 3D games, calculate the position of pixels, and images.
In recent years, Intel processors have better performance than other processors, but AMD Athlon processor gradually has become a strict competitor to Intel.

HD

Hardisk is a metal device that normally exist in a computer. The main reason of a computer has device Hardisk is because hard disk is the only device that can store data when the computer is not in a state of light (certainly in addition to some other external storage devices).
Random Access Memory

RAM
RAM is a device that quite confusing compared to the hard disk, because both are places store of data, but both are very different. RAM is a chip that can accommodate the data, so just hold it without saving the data. RAM has a speed more than the hard disk, and that's what makes the RAM has a price more expensive than the hard disk, and it was also the cause why the RAM is not used as the primary fund storage, RAM is used as a liaison between the Hard Drive and processor. If the processor needs data from the hard disk, then the chipset will take the data from the hard disk and then store it in RAM or the memory, and then the processor will be able to retrieve that data quickly.

If the computer runs out of RAM space, it will cause the name "Virtual RAM". Virtual RAM is the designation for the extension of existing RAM on a hard drive. As previously explained that the hard disk has a lower speed than the RAM, so if the computer get data directly from disk, the computer will be running so slow.

Cache
"L1, and L2"
A cache is a high-speed RAM. The cache stores data and instructions from the processor in general so the cache does not need to go through the RAM in the process of data transmission. And that's the reason why the modem on today's computers can run very fast. Without cache, the processor will be many who have limitations in the process of data transmission based on the speed of RAM, and worse the computer can run very slowly. Cache is divided into two parts level. The first level is L1 which has a size of 32 KB to 128 KB. The cache is divided in the middle, in the CPU Core, in addition to integers and on the Floating Point Unit, half of the store data, and the other half storing processor instructions are used to carry data. Cache second level search is called L2, is used only for data. Some of the L2 cache inside the motherboard and some that are within the CPU. Level 2 cache currently resides in the CPU, along with Level 1 cache.

The Chipset
The chipset is the most important part of the computer. The chipset can manage the communication between components. The chipset is divided into two parts. The first chip is called "Nort Bridge" that can manage the communication between the AGP, RAM, Processor, and "South Bridge" on the chipset. And the second chip is the "South Bridge" that can manage all the input and output on the computer, including the PCI and ISA bus. Processor, Memory (RAM), cache, and chipset work together to activate the computer functions

Definition And Types Of Memory

Today the term used to describe memory storage of data that comes into computer chips, and said storage itself is used to describe the existing memory on the disk. In addition, sometimes the term memory is usually also used as an external memory device or memory device that can be carried everywhere. Some of today's computers also use virtual memory, which has great power on a hard drive.

Each computer is equipped with memory, and memory typically are referred to as main memory or RAM is called. In a computer's main memory is placed in the form of a row of metal boxes.

Each computer can hold information in the form of bytes. A computer that already has one megabyte of memory can accommodate more than one too bytes of information or character.

There are several types of memory, and below is the type and description

# RAM (random access memory): Memory is the main memory. The term of this RAM is used for memory that is used to read and write data. With these functions you can perform two activities at once, which is writing from the RAM and read data from RAM. This is very different from the ROM, which only allows you to read data. Most data has a level of instability that are less and it indicates that the power supply which regulates the course content go to the RAM. And if at any time power is lost, then automatically the data in RAM is lost.

# ROM (read-only memory): Almost a large number of computers have the ROM or Read Only Memory which holds the instructions to turn on a computer. Unlike RAM, ROM can not be used to write data.

# PROM (programmable read-only memory): A PROM is a memory chip that can store programs. But once the PROM digu0nakan, we will not be able to clean up and restore data.

# EPROM (erasable programmable read-only memory): EPROM is a special type of PROM memory, EPROM which can be removed by using ultraviolet light.

# EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory): EEPROM is a special type of PROM, EEPROM which can be removed by using the electric voltage.

Computer prices

When you want to buy a computer, you may include the confusion to select the best with computers at affordable prices. Indeed, buying a computer can be a complicated problem. Typically, different place, the price is already different. Here's how to get the best price when shopping for a new computer.

1. The first thing before you find the price of the appropriate computer, determine your needs specifically on the list of programs and accessories you need. Did you send some emails and surfing the Net, or will you be working on graphics and 3D modeling? Maybe your computer will need windows programs or other computer programs. You also need to know the exact speed of the computer that you want, and how much computer memory you need. Decide beforehand if you want a DVD burner, CD burner, floppy drives, disc drives or any new products out.

2. Find the model you want and start doing searches for computers that you have selected. Currently available are so many options you can choose the model, by adjusting the price of your budget a computer that already.

4. Compare three to five computers. Write the specifications, information and price of each so you can choose the one best for you at the lowest computer prices. Check local newspapers and magazines for sales and coupons in the store computer and electronic stores. You may see a remarkable agreement, or special discounts on computer expo event.

5. Search online sales. Dell, Gateway and Macintosh allow you to buy directly from them.

6. Bargaining. This is very important when you walk into an electronics store. If you're patient, you may get a discount price with a decent computer. It is important for you to examine the components and networks to find out whether you can upgrade your needs at any time. If you foresee a lot of games, or plan to build complex graphics on a laptop but do not plan to send an email from a WiFi hotspot, make sure the network card can be upgraded.

7. Make your final choice. Check the Web site to find out more about your purchasing options. In many cases, online retailers have a financing option that allows you to make a purchase. You can also get the best computer prices if the ongoing promotion program. Usually you'll be competing with thousands of other visitors, to be able to access the website.

8. Order and pay for your new computer. Check your device with a computer "monitor, keyboard and mouse is very important if you buy a desktop computer. If you buy a package that does not have this extra, you need to add it to your computer prices.

9. Seller question extensively. Is the seller the original owner? What accessories are included? How long does the battery is full? Is the software CD included? Is that valid serial number on the sticker still attached? What about warranty? Are there any transfer fees? If the answer is not clear, it's better you choose another place, though they offer a cheap price computer.

Understanding Virus

Consciously or unconsciously, sometimes we are always troubled by the existence of a virus attack, whether it makes our computer suddenly can not be used at all, there are several functions that are not running or even other distractions that certainly it was enough to make us upset, and when This question is "What exactly is the virus? ".

Viruses are computer programs that can replicate itself and infect a computer without permission or without the knowledge of the user. The term "virus" is also commonly used to describe some type of other viruses such as malware, adware and spyware that does not have the ability to perform like a duplication of the virus. Viruses can quickly spread from one computer to another computer when a virus is placed in the victim's computer, it can occur because the user indirectly transmit the virus program over a network or the Internet, or through some other computer devices such as floppy disks, CDs , DVD or USB.

Viruses can increase the chances of doing the spreading to infect other computers on the network file system file that is sent through another computer.

The term "virus" is sometimes also used to mention a few types of malware. Malware can also be classified as a virus program, including worms, trojan horses, most rookits, spyware, dishonest adware, crimeware, and some other malicious programs. Technically, the virus has a different understanding with worms and Trojan Horses. The worm can exploit a range of computer security to spread itself to other computers, while the trojan is a program that looks harmless but turned out to have a dangerous schedule that the manufacturer deliberately hidden by the trojan. Worms and Trojans like such a dangerous virus for computers that can interfere with some functions when the program is on the run.

This time have many computers connected to internet and local networks, and with so many makers virus that takes advantage of spreading the virus through the network services such as the World Wide Web, E-mail, instant messaging and sharing system in the process of spreading.
