Today the term used to describe memory storage of data that comes into computer chips, and said storage itself is used to describe the existing memory on the disk. # EPROM (erasable programmable read-only memory): EPROM is a special type of PROM memory, EPROM which can be removed by using ultraviolet light.

# EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory): EEPROM is a special type of PROM, EEPROM which can be removed by using the electric voltage.
